I have been working on this database for a while now - it inculdes all records I have of giant pumpkins grown in South Africa. The database can be viewed here. It includes all the offical results from the following South African competitions:
PPV: Pniel Pampoenplanters Vereniging (Pniel Pumpkin Planters Association) - now the BGPGA
BGPGA: Boland Giant Pumpkin Growers Association
Shoprite Checkers Pampoenkompetisie
Goliat van Gat pumpkin competition
And also some unofficial weights from various other growers

Geluk Drikus met daai nr 5 posisie op die lys. Jy het ook Suid-Afrika se grootste pampoen van 2007 gekweek! Sterkte met die komende groeiseisoen - ek het 'n gevoel daai rekord gaan nie meer lank staan nie!

Dankie vir die harde werk met die data basis. Dit was `n goeie idee. Hier kan `n mens al begin sien watter saad goed doen in ons weersomstandighede. Dit kan ons help om `n SA genepoel op te bou vir ons tipe weer.
Dit was seker een van die slegste jare om groot pampoen te plant. Hittegolwe, droogte en meeldou wat die pampoen nie wil he nie. Dit het my verbaas om te sien die mooi pampoene wat veral van die Kaap en Stilbaai uitgekom het. Sterkte vir volgende jaar hoop die weer is beter en groei hulle groot.

I have updated the database with the results from this years Shoprite Checkers giant pumpkin competition that took place in Paarl. Congratulations to Johan du Plessis from Worcester - a new entrant into the top 10 list.
I am still waiting for results from the Goliat van Gat competitions that took place this month, and also their results from last year.
Note that I only include pumpkins weighing 30kg or more in the list.
